Dengue Infection Increases In Chitwan, More Than 2,000 Infected

Oct 14, Kathmandu- Out of the patients who came for treatment in various hospitals of Chitwan, dengue infection was found in 2,243 people.

During the testing of 6,347 people since last Shrawan, dengue infection has been found in them. According to the Public Health Office, Chitwan, among the infected, there are 1,692 people from Chitwan and 551 people from outside the district.

18 people have been diagnosed with dengue in Madi municipality. According to him, 447 people in Ichchakamana rural municipality, 319 people in Ratnanagar municipality, 87 people in Khairhani municipality, 48 people in Kalika municipality and 43 people in Rapti municipality have been infected with dengue.

Two people have died due to dengue infection in the district. In the last fiscal year, 1,831 people were infected with dengue in the district.

According to him, 23,840 people were found infected during the tests. Dengue disease is seen especially in Bhadra, As rain and sunshine create a favorable environment for mosquitoes. The disease is transmitted by the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. Dinesh Rupakheti, the head of the Public Health Office Chitwan, said that this mosquito usually bites in the morning and evening.

He informed that because dengue fever is caused by a virus, there is no specific treatment for it. According to Public Health Office Chitwan, the main way to avoid dengue fever is to avoid mosquito bites. Similarly, Chief Rupakheti said that water should not be allowed to freeze in empty bales, empty drums of kerosene, old tires etc. thrown around the place where they live.
