Indian Foreign Minister Arrived In Pakistan

Oct 15, Kathmandu- Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has reached Pakistan. This is the first time that an Indian foreign minister has visited Pakistan after almost nine years.

This is the first high-level visit from India to Pakistan amid tensions between the two countries for the past few years. Relations between the two countries are still cold over the Kashmir issue and cross-border terrorism.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has arrived in Pakistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. The SCO Summit is being held in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, on October 15 and 16.

Both sides have rejected the bilateral talks between Jaishankar and his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar on the occasion of the summit.

China, India, Pakistan, Belarus, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are permanent members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The organization was established on June 15, 2001.
