China Opposes Opening Of Taiwan's Liaison Office In Mumbai

Oct 18, Kathmandu- China has protested after Taiwan's liaison office was opened in Mumbai, India. After the opening of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Mumbai, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, Yu Jing, responded through the social network 'X' and protested, according to BBC Hindi.

Yu Jing says that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an integral part of China. He said that any country that has diplomatic relations with China will strongly oppose it if it maintains official contact with Taiwan.

Saying that China has seriously raised this issue with India, spokesperson Yu Jing has also mentioned that India has expressed its commitment to the One China principle. He has asked India not to hold any kind of formal talks with Taiwan and not to hinder the process of improving relations with China.
