Working Group Formed To Submit A Memorandum To The Government

Oct 18, Kathmandu- The opposition parties have formed a working group to submit a memorandum to the government and prepare to call a special session of the parliament. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Shishir Khanal informed that the meeting of the opposition parties held in New Baneshwor this morning has formed a working group.

The working group will consist of Deputy General Secretary Shakti Bahadur Basnet from the Maoist Center, MP Shishir Khanal from RSP, Senior Vice President Rajendra Pandey from CPN Unified Socialist Party and one person from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

The working group is preparing for the memorandum by next Sunday and submit it to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on 5th Kartik. The working group is also going to proceed with preparations for calling a special session of the Parliament.

The opposition parties suspect that the government may bring an ordinance to divide the small parties. Madhav Kumar Nepal, president of the Unified Socialist Party, said that the government could bring an ordinance to divide the party. The opposition parties are preparing to call for a session of the Parliament to stop the introduction of the ordinance.

Concluding that the government is not serious about the rehabilitation of flood victims, the meeting also decided to draw the attention of the government.

A meeting of opposition parties was held today at the call of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Mahant Thakur, president of the ruling Democratic Samajwadi Party along with the opposition party, also participated in the meeting.
