Sri Lanka Defeated Maldives In SAFF Women's Championship

Oct 18, Kathmandu- Sri Lanka has made a winning start in SAFF Women's Championship football.

Sri Lanka beat Maldives by 1-0 in the match at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor today. Sri Lanka's Imesha Vernakulasuriya scored the goal. With this win, Sri Lanka has added 3 points.

The organizers Nepal and Bhutan are playing in the tournament today. This match will start at 5:30 PM at the Dasharath Stadium.

Group 'A' of SAFF Women's Championship consists of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Similarly, in group 'B' there are hosts Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. The competition, which started yesterday, will continue till Kartik 14th.
