Dengue Infection In Over 20,000 People Across The Country, More Than Half Of Tested At Teku Hospital Infected

Oct 18, Kathmandu- Although the temperature has been decreasing in the last week across the country, the number of dengue patients in Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital has not decreased.

According to Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital Director Dr. Yuvanidhi Basaula, out of 28 people who were admitted for treatment on Friday alone, 12 people have been confirmed to have dengue infection.

"5-7 dengue infected people had to be admitted and treated. According to today's data, 12 dengue patients are being treated in the ward," he said.

He said that only 23 of the 35 patients who came for emergency treatment last night were dengue patients. "Although the patients are not in serious condition, some of them have bleeding problems from the nose and gums," he added. "Some need platelet transfusions."
