Meeting Between The Chinese Leader Chen And The Prime Minister Oli

Oct 20, Kathmandu- A delegation led by Chen Gang, a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Secretary of Qinghai Province, who is on a visit to Nepal, had a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli today.

In a meeting convened at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, discussions centered on enhancing the bilateral relations between the two nations and their respective political parties. Prime Minister Oli remarked on the remarkable all-encompassing development achieved in China under the guidance of the Chinese Communist Party and General Secretary Xi Jinping, expressing Nepal's desire to partake in this progress.

Prime Minister Oli stated that a new government was formed in cooperation between the two major parties UML and Nepali Congress for political stability and hoped for China's continued support in Nepal's economic development.

Prime Minister Oli said that since there are government-to-government, people-to-people as well as business, mythological and cultural relations between the two countries, the order of exchange of high-level visits should be continued.

Prime Minister Oli reminded that Nepal has always been clear in not allowing Nepali land to be used for any activities against China while remaining committed to Nepal's One China principle.

Chinese leader Chen informed that he has come to visit Nepal under the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and clarified that China will always stand by Nepal's happiness and prosperity. He said that he will respect the decision made by the political parties of Nepal and will inform the General Secretary Xi about the matters that came up during the visit.

Prime Minister Oli's chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, UML Secretary and Head of Foreign Affairs Department Raghuvir Mahaseth, members of the department Dr. Anjan Shakya and Gopal Khanal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Krishna Prasad Dhakal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song and others participated in the meeting.
