Two Nepalese Arrested By Interpol In Cambodia, One Has Been Brought Back

Oct 25, Kathmandu- With the help of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the police have arrested Sujan Acharya, an absconding accused in the foreign employment fraud case.

After a red notice was issued at the request of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Kathmandu, Interpol's Cambodia-based NCB arrested him a month and a half ago. He was arrested by the police at the airport just as he was about to return to Kathmandu after being deported.

There is also a net notice in Interpol against his wife Binu Shakya in this case. According to police sources, he was also arrested in Cambodia. However, he has not been deported yet.

According to the police, he is accused of defrauding at least 40 people by saying that he would send them to Singapore for foreign employment.

A case has already been filed against Sujan on charges related to electronic transactions, fraud and criminal benefit-related offenses. Acharya was also arrested earlier on the charges of blackmailing him by pretending to be a journalist and blackmailing him by posting obscene videos. After that, he was involved in the foreign employment fraud.

He has been sent to District Police Complex, Kathmandu for further investigation and action against him.
