Murder Accused Arrested After One And A Half Years

Oct 26, Kathmandu- One and a half years later, one person has been arrested on the charge of killing an Indian citizen in Sarlahi.

The arrested person is 26-year-old Dharmendra Rai from Sitamarhi district of India, District Police Office Sarlahi said.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Shrestha, the spokesperson of the office, Rai killed Siku Kumar, a 26-year-old Indian citizen named Shekhar Suman, in Haripurwa Municipality-1 on Baisakh 26 last year by hitting him in the neck with a sharp weapon and absconding.

Sarlahi police arrested Rai on Jestha 11, 2080 and obtained an arrest permit from Sarlahi District Court to investigate the incident.

Shrestha said that Rai was taken into custody from the Gorakhkali road section near the Nepal-India border in Malangwa Municipality 8.

According to the police, further investigation is going on in this regard.
