AirAsia's Regular Flight Canceled After Arriving In Kathmandu Without Permission

Oct 27, Kathmandu- The Civil Aviation Authority has taken action against Thai AirAsia, which came to Kathmandu from Bangkok without permission on Sunday.

Although there is no flight schedule on Sunday, the authority said that this action was taken after Thai AirAsia flew Bangkok-Kathmandu.

According to Gyanendra Bhul, information officer of the authority, there was no Thai flight on Sunday in the winter schedule that started today. From yesterday i.e. from October 26, the summer schedule has ended.

Thai said it will fly to Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa from today. However, he said that the flight was held for about 30 minutes after the Thai ferry arrived in Kathmandu.

"Thai AirAsia was initially put on hold because it did not get a flight permit. We were also asked to divert the flight", he said, "for the safety of the passengers, we have allowed the flight to land for today".

The authority has banned Thai AirAsia regular flights and GSA (Universal Tours and Travels) from booking tickets until further notice.

Thai has started Bangkok-Kathmandu two-way commercial flights from last October 16.

Thai was flying four times a week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
