Oct 27, Kathmandu- The Nepal Electricity Authority has cut the lines of 32 industries that do not pay the dedicated and trunk line fees. After the electricity authority cut the line, the production from the industries has stopped. The authority had given a deadline of 90 days to pay the revenue before cutting the line of industries. However, the authority cut the line after the industrialists did not pay the tax within the time period. Eight industries have paid their taxes since the authority has given an exemption to paying the taxes in instalments.
It is alleged that the executive director of the authority became aggressive towards the industrialists regarding the dedicated and trunk line revenue, did not listen to the industrialists, and cut the electricity lines without paying the demanded bill.
