51 Activists Including The MP Of The RSP Released After Being Arrested From Baluwatar

Oct 29, Kathmandu- The Police have released 51 members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP who were arrested today (Tuesday) during the siege of Baluwatar. The police arrested 51 people, including MP Ashok Chaudhary, who came to Baluwatar to find the source of political revenge and arrogance of two-thirds of the government.

Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire has informed that everyone has been let go. They were detained after trying to break the restricted area. On the other hand, the Acting Spokesperson of RSP, Manish Jha, said that the government has oppressed them. According to the law, the state has to protect the rights and interests of citizens, not to interfere and not to use force, and it is the duty of the state and state organs to arrest the leaders and workers of the RSP on Tuesday.

He informed that 51 people including RSP central member and Kathmandu Valley movement coordinator and central member Pukar Bam, MP Ashok Chaudhary and central member Ram Krishna Bhattarai, RSP Kathmandu chairman Pradeep Bista, RSP Lalitpur chairman Buddharatna Maharjan were arrested. The Rastriya Swatantra Party has been holding peaceful protests against corruption and political revenge against its chairman Rabi Lamichhane for the past few days in various places of the country including Kathmandu.
