Nov 02, Kathmandu- The US has imposed sanctions on 19 Indian companies for allegedly supplying arms and other goods to Russia. The US has accused these companies of supplying weapons and other goods to Russia after Russia's attack on Ukraine in February 2022.
Most of the companies that are subject to US sanctions are suppliers of electronic goods, while some are suppliers of aircraft and other machines.
At a time when relations with Canada were strained, the US also banned an Indian company and two citizens. The US issued a statement saying that its State Department, Treasury Department and Commerce Department have imposed sanctions on these individuals and companies.
Companies that face such restrictions are blacklisted in the SWIFT banking system. After this ban, those companies cannot do business in countries that are against Russia.
