Nov 02, Kathmandu- Facebook's company Meta is preparing to bring a robot hand with the ability to touch. The company is going to prepare such a technology with the main objective of making the robot more sensitive and responsive in its interaction with people.
TechCrunch mentioned that Meta is developing this robot arm in partnership with GelSight and Wonik Robotics. It is said that this technology will help the robot to easily obtain information about the condition and size of objects.
It has a tactile sensor with a special sensitivity, which collects the necessary information to touch and experience. For this, Meta has developed a fingertip sensor called 'Digit 360', which Meta claims can sense small changes in the surrounding environment.
Meta has also released the code and design of this technology. Apart from this, another solution called 'Digit Plexus' has been introduced, which can be used in a robotic arm by integrating various sensors.
According to Meta, Digit 360 equipment will be produced and distributed by Gelsight. Likewise, the South Korean company Vanik Technology Solutions has taken over the manufacturing and distribution of the robotic hand called 'Allegro Hand'.
Meta hopes that this new technology will help further research and use in the field of AI and robotics. In addition, it has been analyzed to bring great changes in the fields of health, production, employment, virtual reality, etc.
