Nov 09, Kathmandu- Communication Technology and Information Minister Prithvisubba Gurung has inaugurated the twelfth national convention of Tamu students Chenj Dhinko which started on Saturday at Damauli in Tanahun.
Minister Gurung has inaugurated the conference which will be held for three days. Before the opening ceremony of the convention, a cultural tableau was taken out in Damauli with ethnic costumes. The convention will elect a new leadership. One thousand five hundred people including five hundred delegates are participating in the convention.
Bishwaraj Tamu, the coordinator of the original organizing committee of the National Convention was established on 26th Magh 2052 with the aim of protecting and promoting the rights and interests of Tamu students Chong Dhin Gurung students. Earlier in 2079, the Dhinko conference was held in Kathmandu.
Coordinator Tamu said, "Maintaining mutual cooperation, harmony and friendly partnership with the whole student organization, cooperating in the construction of ethnic self-government, political, educational, social, economic, administrative access and judicial egalitarian society, establishing emotional unity and mutual cooperation among students to achieve the emancipation of the Tamu caste".
