Nov 10, Kathmandu- Looking at the latest statistics, the trend of dengue infection is decreasing.

The Insect Disease Control Branch of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) under the Department of Health Services has informed that dengue infection is decreasing. It is claimed that the infection has decreased because the municipality conducted a search and destroy campaign to control dengue. Some time ago, the Ministry of Health and Population started a campaign to search and destroy mosquito habitats nationwide to control dengue. The ministry called on the ministries, departments, civil servants, security agencies, social activists as well as ordinary citizens to participate every Friday at 10:00 PM. This campaign is being conducted by government and non-government organizations and citizens.

The death toll from dengue is currently 12, while the infection has spread to 76 districts. According to the data, the highest number of dengue cases has been reported in Kaski with 7,286 people. Similarly, 4,800 people have been infected in Kathmandu, 2,373 in Tanahun, 1,749 in Parbat, 1,241 in Lalitpur, 1,200 in Baglung, 1,175 in Chitwan and 1,34 in Bhaktapur.
