Nov 15, Kathmandu- The death toll has risen to eight when a jeep carrying pilgrims returning from a fest in Darchula crashed. According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prakash Dahal from District Police Office Darchula, two people had died on the spot while undergoing treatment.
The identities of the eight people who lost their lives have been revealed. Those who lost their lives are Dilip Bista, Mina Lekhak, Birendra Rawal and Shanti Rawal of Shailyashikhar Municipality, Birendra Bohra, Sudip Bohra of Ward No. 5 from Dilashaini Rural Municipality of Baitadi, Mohammad Safir and Mohammad Basir of Vijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Five injured people are being treated at Gokuleshwar Hospital. A jeep number Ma 1 Ja 338 had an accident this morning at Bakjebla of Shailyashikhar municipality-6.
According to Police Inspector and Information Officer Chhatra Bahadur Raut at Police Office Darchula, the jeep accident occurred while the pilgrims were returning from Jatra to the local Malikarjun temple. The cause of the accident has not been revealed.
