After the earthquake of 2072 brought down the tower, the construction started in 2075. After 6 years of construction, the entire construction was not completed and it was put into operation on Ashwin 3rd, the day of the Constitution Day.

It was arranged that 600 people would be allowed to climb this tower for free every day. For this, it was arranged to book tickets online for free.

The number of people allowed to board the Dharahara ferry was increased to 1,500 except on Wednesdays and public holidays. It is mentioned in the statistics that 25 thousand 742 people have climbed the tower so far.
