Third Typhoon Hits Hong Kong After 2 Typhoons In A Row

Nov 17, Kathmandu- A third typhoon is suspected to hit Hong Kong after two consecutive typhoons. This storm will enter the distance of 800 kilometers from Hong Kong at midnight, the observatory said. Along with this, the Observatory is preparing to issue Typhoon No. 1 signal between 6 am and 9 am tomorrow.

"Tropical Cyclone Man-Yi will enter within 800 km of Hong Kong by midnight," the observatory said in its 3:20 p.m. bulletin. "Standby signal number 1 will be issued between 6 am and 9 am." In addition, Janau Observatory has issued a high warning signal (T3) from Monday night to Tuesday morning. This will depend on the distance between Man-Yi and the mouth of the Pearl River, the intensity of the storm and changes in local wind conditions.

Earlier, forecasters had said that Typhoon Man-Yi would become a super typhoon on Monday and remain within 400 kilometers of Hong Kong before turning into a major typhoon the next day. After this, on Wednesday, forecasters estimate that it will weaken and move away from Hong Kong.

The temperature is expected to gradually decrease and reach a minimum of 18. According to the Observatory, due to the storm, there will be high tide on Monday and Tuesday and rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Only two typhoons in Hong Kong recently had T1 to T8 warning signals issued. A T8 warning signal was issued due to the effects of the latest typhoon Toraji. Hong Kong will face 3 typhoons in the space of a week and a half. The first typhoon, Yinxing, came to Toraji gradually. Now, within a few days after Toraji's effect is over, Man-Yi's effect is visible.
