Nov 18, Kathmandu- The government has declared a public holiday today on the death of former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana. The government has decided to give a public holiday only before office hours on Monday morning. Citizens have to suffer after the decision to give a public holiday just a short time before the opening of the office.
Since Monday morning, there has been a queue of service users at the district administration office and Gulmi Hospital. Former speaker Dhungana died on Sunday during treatment. However, there was no information about the public holiday until Monday morning, a service user said, 'If you had known about the holiday yesterday, you would not have come to the headquarters from the village in a hurry."
They complain that they are suffering because the government did not give any information about the holiday the previous day. The service users who came to seek services in the district administration and other government offices had to return home. The service receivers complain that they have suffered due to the arbitrary decision made by the government regarding various types of services provided by the administration office. Dhungana died during treatment on Sunday afternoon. Today, Dhungana is being cremated with national honors at Pashupati cremention area.
