Honorary Maharathi Awarded To Indian Army Chief By The President

Nov 21, Kathmandu- President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the Honorary Maharathi of the Nepalese Army to Indian Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi in a ceremony held at the President's Residence Sheetal Niwas.

President Paudel, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepalese Army, presented the badge to General Dwivedi.

Since 1950, Nepal and India have had a tradition of awarding honorary Maharathi badges to the army chiefs of each country. Chief of Army Staff Dwivedi arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday during a five-day official visit.
