Nov 21, Kathmandu- The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a circular to private medical colleges and government hospitals to publish their service charges.
In the letter sent by the Ministry, it has been asked to put the details of the fees charged for their health services on the website and to make arrangements for the consumers to get information easily.
In the letter sent by the ministry, it has been asked to disclose the surgery fee, details of all types of beds, radiology services and delivery charges. Similarly, the ministry has written to inform the service users by revealing the details of other services including tickets.
After hearing the complaint that the fee was higher than the prescribed amount, Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel asked to make arrangements to keep the fee details so that everyone can be informed. After Minister Poudel took interest, the Quality Measurement and Regulation Division of the Ministry issued a circular to publicize the fee details.
Spokesperson of the ministry, Dr. Budhathoki, said that the ministry is preparing to monitor whether the details have been made public after the circular. "In the first phase, monitoring will be done. If it is found that the fee is charged more or the fee is not disclosed, action will be taken according to the rules", he said.
