Nov 23, Kathmandu- A fee of Rs 200 per person has been set for domestic citizens to climb Dharahara, which has been opened for free as a trial.
As per the special structure operation and management development committee (formation order), 2081, the Ministry of Urban Development had submitted a proposal in the Council of Ministers meeting held last Thursday to fix a fee of Rs 500 per person for tourists coming from SAARC countries and Rs 1,000 per person for tourists from non-SAARC countries.
The ministry has stated that once the proposal is approved, the mentioned fee will be charged for climbing Dharahara from Mangsir 21.
For domestic citizens, students, senior citizens, children, and people with disabilities will get a 50 percent discount on the fee for climbing Dharahara. Similarly, parking at Dharahara has been fixed at Rs 20 per hour for four-wheelers and Rs 10 per hour for two-wheelers.
Similarly, a fee of Rs 5,000 per hour has been fixed for placing advertisements of national importance (excluding commercial) on the Dharahara pillar, Rs 5,000 per hour for shooting commercial videos on the Dharahara premises, and Rs 1,000 per hour for photography.
