One Arrested With Tiger Skin

Nov 25, Kathmandu- A person has been arrested with a tiger skin in Kapilvastu.

SP Niranjan Bhatta of the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, informed that a person was arrested on Sunday from outside the Karuna Restaurant and Lodge in Hallanagar, Shivraj Municipality-2.

The arrested person is Bishnu Prasad Bhattarai, 41, of Golpark, Butwal Sub-metropolitan City-5.

A plainclothes team under the command of Police Inspector Sujan Shah was deployed from the Area Police Office after receiving information that tiger skin trading was taking place.

The team searched Bhattarai, who was standing outside the restaurant.

A tiger skin was recovered from the bag he was carrying.

The skin is 6 feet long from the head to the base of the tail. The tail portion is 2 feet 2 inches in length.

It has four teeth, claws on all four paws, and three small holes in the skin that look like bullet holes.

The office has stated that the matter has been sent to the Division Forest Office, Chandrauta, Kapilvastu for further investigation.
