Nov 26, Kathmandu- So far, 1.8 million workers have been registered with the Social Security Fund. As of Monday, the fund has reported that 1.797 million workers, including 543,491 in the formal sector, 1,253,615 in foreign employment, 307 in the informal sector, and 227 in the self-employed sector, have been registered.
Kabiraj Adhikari, Executive Director of the Fund, informed about this at a program organized on Tuesday on the occasion of the 7th Security Day. According to him, the Fund has operated medical, health and maternity, accident, disability, dependent family and old age security schemes for workers.
The Fund has so far paid 11.62 billion rupees to 180,922 workers under various schemes. Contributions to the Fund have collected 68.68 billion rupees.
