Nov 26, Kathmandu- According to the hospital administration, the death toll in the communal violence in the Kurram district of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has reached 88.
The violence erupted last Thursday when a vehicle carrying Shia Muslim passengers was attacked in the Parachinar area, causing heavy casualties.
The attack has escalated sectarian violence between Shia and Sunni communities, with the death toll rising in recent days after several attacks.
A delegation from the provincial government has now visited the affected districts and agreed to a seven-day ceasefire between the two communities.
