Nov 29, Kathmandu- A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding that the decision not to prosecute former Koshi Province Minister Lila Ballabh Adhikari be quashed.
Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the decision not to prosecute him be quashed and that a fresh investigation be conducted against him and a case be filed. He is demanding that the decision not to prosecute him be quashed immediately as it is malicious. Former Minister Adhikari had flown to Japan on 11 Kartik to attend an event organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Art Council Tokyo.
The District Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, decided not to prosecute Adhikari and he was released from custody on 10 Mangsir. Janak Rai, 41, of Kepilasalgadhi Rural Municipality-4, Khotang, Dawa Sherpa, 37, of Aiselukhark Rural Municipality-2, Khotang, and Kanchan Devkota, 21, of Kalika Rural Municipality-5, Rasuwa, who had gone with him to Japan, were interrogated at the immigration office at Narita Airport. Later, all four, including Minister Adhikari, were deported by the Japanese immigration office after being placed on hold. After the deportation, the immigration department handed over the three to the Valley Crime Investigation Office for further investigation.
