Nov 30, Kathmandu- Mohan Gyawali, former president of the Nepal Teachers' Association, a well-wisher organization of the Nepali Congress, has passed away.
Gyawali, who led the Nepal Teachers' Association for two terms, passed away at the age of 59 due to a heart attack last night, informed Narayan Timilsina, Deputy Secretary General and Spokesperson of the Nepal Teachers' Association.
Gyawali joined the Teachers' Association while living as a teacher in Kaski, with his permanent residence in Gulmi. He was the Kaski District President from 2053 to 2057 BS, the Central General Secretary of the Teachers' Association from 2057 to 2061 BS and the Central President for two terms from 2061 to 2069 BS.
The body of Gyawali, who was also the Nepali Congress Gulmi general convention representative, is currently being kept at the Nepal Teachers' Association's central office in Dhumbarahi for tributes. His family has stated that he will be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat today according to Hindu traditions.
