Dec 08, Kathmandu- The court has granted permission to detain Jhapa-based medical practitioner Durga Prasai for three more days. Prasai, who is in the custody of the Central Cyber Bureau of the police, was remanded for three more days on Sunday, informed the bureau's SP Deepak Raj Awasthi.
The bureau is continuing its investigation into the electronic fraud crime against Prasai, who was arrested at his residence in Bhaktapur. Similarly, an arrest warrant has been issued against him by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police.
An arrest warrant has been issued against Prasai for criminal profiteering after his connection to Hari Chandra Phuyal of Jhapa, who was arrested for threatening various businessmen, was discovered. The Cyber Bureau is currently investigating Prasain for his statement that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had invested in Cambodia.
