Dec 09, Kathmandu- The International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Pokhara is set to begin on December 24 (Paush 9).
The festival, organized by Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd. at Pame in Pokhara, will feature the participation of professional balloon companies from 20 countries, including Nepal. The festival, which will be held on the occasion of Christmas and the English New Year, will run until January 1, the first day of 2025, informed Robert B.K., the international coordinator of the festival.
The festival will be held in a three-kilometer area from Lauruk to Changkhapur in the Pame. Companies from countries including the United States, Spain, Lithuania, Thailand, and Vietnam will participate in the festival, said Sabin Maharjan, managing director of the organizing company and festival coordinator.
The festival will feature musical programs, food stalls, fairs, and games every day. The festival will feature musical performances by national artists Deepak Bajracharya and Team, Raju Lama and Mongolian Heart, Alina Chauhan, Kuma Sagar and Band, Cartoonz Crew, and local bands from Pokhara, according to the organizers.
The festival is being managed by Charismatic Digital Solutions and promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board, Non-Resident Nepali Association and Pokhara Tourism Board. Actor Rajesh Hamal and actress Priyanka Karki are the brand ambassadors of the festival. The international coordination of the festival is being done by Deepak Shrestha and Robert BK.
The organizers hope that the festival will add a new dimension to Pokhara's tourism. Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd. had participated in the 'International Balloon Fiesta, 2024' held in Thailand in February last year.
