The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police arrested Prasai from his home in Bhaktapur after he spread rumors that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had invested certain amount in Cambodia. The CIB had handed Prasai over to the Cyber ​​Bureau for investigation.

Based on the report submitted by the Cyber ​​Bureau after completing the investigation, the District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, has registered a case in the Kathmandu District Court. The case has been registered demanding the punishment of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 100,000 as the crime of cyber crime is punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 100,000.

In addition, additional punishment has been demanded against Prasai, who has already been imprisoned for cybercrime. Since there is a provision for one and a half years of imprisonment for repeated offenders, a case has been filed against Prasai, demanding a sentence of 7 and a half years. The case against Prasai has been scheduled in the bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Bishnu Prasad Awasthi. Now Prasai's statement will be heard in the court. After that, after the closed-door hearing, an order will be issued to send him to remand or release him on a regular date and bail.

Meanwhile, the CIB is also investigating Prasai for criminal profiteering and organized crime for allegedly threatening Nepali businessmen by using the name of Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
