Rabi Taken To Court For Remand Extension

Dec 12, Kathmandu- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who is accused of embezzling funds from a cooperative organization, was produced before the Kaski District Court today (Thursday).

Lamichhane was brought to court again as the last extended four-day remand period expires today.

According to Kaski Police, a request is being made to extend the detention of former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane for a few more days for investigation.

Four people, including him, were taken to court today for an extension of their remand.

Lamichhane was taken to Kaski from Parsa on Wednesday. He was earlier taken to Parsa on Monday to give a statement in the embezzlement of savings from the Sano Paila cooperative.

Lamichhane, who was involved in the cooperative case, was arrested from Kathmandu on Kartik 2. Since then, he has been in the custody of Kaski police.

Lamichhane has previously been taken from Kaski to Rupandehi, Kathmandu and Chitwan for questioning.
