I have not interfered in the operation of Tribhuvan University: Prime Minister Oli

Dec 12, Kathmandu- Prime Minister and Tribhuvan University Chancellor KP Sharma Oli has said that he has not interfered in the operation of Tribhuvan University.

Addressing the policy convention of Tribhuvan University on Thursday, he made it clear that the Vice-Chancellor will run the university. He said that there is no truth in the propaganda that he has interfered. Prime Minister Oli directed to appoint vacant deans and campus heads on the basis of true meritocracy and in a way that the university can run. Reminding that the Vice-Chancellor will lead the work of running the university, Prime Minister Oli said that he has been telling the Vice-Chancellor to work in a fair and true meritocracy so that the university can run.

After a Senate member raised a question in the meeting about the non-appointment of the recommended deans and campus heads, Prime Minister Oli directed that these appointments be made by Paush 7. Stating that meritocracy should not be questioned, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need to make the university effective without getting involved in petty matters. He conducted the Senate meetings in a dignified, systematic, constructive and mature manner, without engaging in discussions and disputes throughout the day. He said that the Senate members should also play an active role in bringing an agenda that will bring positive results.
