Dec 13, Kathmandu- Nepal Telecom has a trial version of a feature that allows users to make video calls without any social media on their SIM.
Telecom has stated that this feature can be used on mobile phones running Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Telecom's deputy spokesperson Navin Kumar Mishra said that this is currently in the testing phase. Although this service has been under testing for a few years, its use is now increasing, he said. For this, a 4G-enabled mobile phone is required. The number of 4G users has increased recently.
He said that after this service is launched, the voice quality will also be improved compared to before. By going to the camera option while making a call, you will be able to make video calls just like on other social networks like Facebook and Viber. No data pack is required for this. Mishra said that if you make such a video call without taking a data pack, an amount equivalent to one GB will be deducted from the user's mobile balance. Currently, according to various data packs of Nepal Telecom, one GB costs from 16 rupees to 29 rupees.
