People have received services at their doorsteps due to the active participation of local bodies: Vice President Yadav

Dec 14, Kathmandu- Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has claimed that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has given the residents of the metropolis the feeling of having the government right in their own backyards.

He made this claim at a program organized today on the occasion of the 30th Metropolitan Day. He said that the people have received convenient services in their own backyards due to the activeness of local bodies. He said that Kathmandu Metropolitan City, rich in cultural, historical and archaeological heritage, is the central capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and a national and international hub. He emphasized on the preservation of cultural splendor and original identity included in the World Heritage Area.

Stating that the services provided by the metropolis to the voters are exemplary for other local levels, he stressed on the need for the youth to play a strong role in the implementation of federalism. Vice President Yadav praised the metropolis for urban management, improvement of river and water systems, promotion of greenery, conservation of heritages like monasteries, restoration of ponds, and integrated urban development.
