Dec 17, Kathmandu- Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has been taken to court.
Five people, including Lamichhane, who is also the Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), have been produced before the Kaski District Court.
The police are preparing to register three cases against Lamichhane, including cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering. He was taken to court today for an extension of his remand, saying the investigation is still ongoing.
According to information given to media persons by DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, 51 defendants, including Lamichhane, who are believed to be involved in the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud, and 1.51 billion bighas will be demanded in the Kaski court.
