Dec 17, Kathmandu- A young man has been arrested in Mahottari on charges of murdering his girlfriend. Police have arrested 25-year-old Mandeep Kumar Yadav of Chakraghatta-9 Khoiriya, Sarlahi, on charges of murdering 22-year-old Anu Raya in Tuteshwor, Bardibas Municipality-5, on Ashwin 23.

Police have arrested the boyfriend, on charges of murdering his girlfriend during an argument while returning from a wedding at Tuteshwor Temple in Mahottari. The girl died on the spot after being beaten up after an argument between the two over whether to call her parents home after the marriage agreement, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Santu Lal Prasad Jaiswar of the District Police Office, Mahottari.

The body was found abandoned in Tuteshwor, Bardibas Municipality-5, on Ashwin 23. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaiswar said that Yadav was arrested from Birgunj while conducting an investigation after receiving a video of the accused returning from the Tuteshwor temple with the deceased woman and travelling together in a tempo. A case of manslaughter has been registered against the arrested Yadav and further investigation is underway, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari.
