Dec 17, Kathmandu- Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed in a statement that four Pakistani nationals died in a boat accident in the southern Greek island of Crete on Saturday.
Baloch said on Monday, “We announce with deep sadness that according to the latest information shared by the Greek authorities, four Pakistani nationals have died in the boat capsizing incidents that occurred on Saturday south of the Greek island of Crete. We are in constant contact with the Greek authorities to assist the survivors.”
Earlier, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry confirmed that 47 Pakistani nationals had been rescued from a boat capsized off the coast of Greece.
Since 2011, Greece has been the main entry point for irregular migrants and refugees trying to enter the European Union (EU).
