Dec 20, Kathmandu- Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari was welcomed at various places in Syangja today.
Former President Bhandari, who arrived in Syangja today to visit and observe the famous religious site of Alam Devi located in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, was welcomed by locals from Phedikhola on the border of Syangja and Kaski to Putalibazar, Bhirkot, Waling, Galyang and Kaligandaki.
Former President Bhandari, who arrived here by road, was welcomed and honored by citizens at various places in the district with garlands and musical instruments.
Bhandari is scheduled to worship and observe the Alamdevi Temple, the ancestral deity of the Shah dynasty, this afternoon, said Khim Bahadur Thapa, chairman of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Syangja.
"Former President Bhandari has come to worship at the Alamdevi Temple and observe the place," he said. "Since she has come for the final worship, no formal program has been organized."
