Nepal Army Defuses Pressure Cooker Bomb

Dec 20, Kathmandu- The Nepali Army has defused a pressure cooker bomb found at the Universal College of Medical Sciences in Bhairahawa.

The old pressure cooker bomb was found at around 10:30 am while a gardener of the medical college was cutting down a tree, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Karki, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rupandehi. "The bomb was in an old rusted condition, it has been deactivated by the Nepali army", said Karki, "nothing has been revealed about who planted it and when, we are still in the process of investigation."

The handle of the pressure cooker was tied with a rope and devices including a watch battery were installed in it. The medical college had informed the District Administration Office after the cooker bomb was found in the bag. The bomb was defused by the Nepali Army's Kalibhakti Battalion in Bhairahawa at 1 pm.
