Dec 21, Kathmandu- Sixteen soldiers were killed and eight others were injured in a terrorist attack in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday morning.
The attack began at around 2:30 am local time in the province's South Waziristan district, where a check post was targeted in a coordinated fire attack.
Twelve bodies have been identified while four more are yet to be identified. The injured were immediately taken to the paramilitary force's Frontier Corps Training Centre for treatment, the sources said.
The army responded effectively by using rocket launchers and other available weapons in response to the attack.
The Pakistani army has not issued an official statement about the attacker.
