Dec 23, Kathmandu- Nuchhe Bahadur Maharjan, the ward chairman of Ward No. 12 of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu, has been arrested on charges of cooperative fraud.
Police have said that he was arrested on charges of embezzling funds from the Thamel-based Hariyali Savings and Credit Cooperative Society.
According to District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, a team from Police Circle Sohrakhutte arrested him.
Maharjan was elected as ward chairman from the CPN-UML.
