Bardibas Becoming An Educational Center

Dec 26, Kathmandu- Bardibas, a city in Mahottari, which lies roughly in the middle of the east-west length of Madhesh, is becoming an educational center. Bardibas, which has been a center of higher education in various fields since then, is about to become an educational center after the process of establishing a college for the Faculty of Animal Health Sciences recently moved forward.

Madhesh Agricultural University has initiated the process of establishing an Animal Health Science College in Bardibas. Madhesh Agricultural University, established in 2078 BS to offer five disciplines including agriculture, animal health science, fisheries, food technology and forestry, is building a college in Bardibas to complete higher education for teaching and practical practice in animal health science, says Dr. Bhagwan Thakur, Registrar of Madhes Agricultural University.

Chief District Officer Lalbabu Kawari said that the Land Registration Recommendation Committee led by the Chief District Officer has already decided on the recommendation of Bardibas Municipality to provide 51 bighas of land from the river Ukas in Bijalpura, Bardibas-13, for the college.

The municipality submitted a proposal to the National Planning Commission for the establishment of this college in December 2079. Although it took some time to complete the legal process and move forward, Bardibas Mayor Pralhad Kumar Chhetri says that it has now gained momentum.
