Ruling Parties Begin Constitutional Amendment Debate 6 Months After Agreement

Dec 26, Kathmandu- The two major political parties that formed the ruling coalition, with the conclusion that the country is becoming unstable due to the large number of parties, have moved forward with the constitutional amendment process.

The issue of constitutional amendment has formally moved forward with the decision of the main ruling partners, the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML), to form a task force for constitutional amendment.

The second point of the seven-point agreement reached between the Nepali Congress and the UML on Asadha 17 mentions amending the constitution.
