26th Street Festival Begins Today On The Banks Of Fewa Lake In Pokhara

Dec 28, Kathmandu- The 26th edition of the 'Pokhara Street Festival' is starting in Pokhara from today. Organized by the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara, the festival will be held in a four-km area of ​​Lakeside until Paush 17, marking the occasion of the English New Year.

Festival coordinator Bikash Bhattarai informed that all preparations for the 26th edition of the festival, which will be held from today, have been completed. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung is scheduled to inaugurate the festival amidst a ceremony.

Before the inauguration ceremony, a rally with a cultural tableau will be held from Lakeside's Khahare in the presence of locals from different castes, more than 60 mother groups, various tourism-related organizations, and others, informed Rewan Pokhara Chairman Bishwaraj Paudel.

Various committees and subcommittees formed to make the festival a success have stated that they have completed their respective preparations. Rewan Pokhara has held a security council meeting, a health committee meeting, and a cultural group meeting to prepare for the festival.

Organized with the slogan 'Eat on the street, enjoy on the street', the festival will feature various cultural programs and displays of original costumes, said Reban Pokhara Chairman Bishwaraj Poudel. The festival includes activities such as national and international food demonstrations, a duet competition, a tableau performance, and night concerts.

Sports Coordinator Suman Bhattarai informed that preparations for street sports events have also been completed to add more excitement to the festival. Street food, tug-of-war, waiter-waitress spoon race, boat race, etc. will be organized. Similarly, like in the previous edition, this time too, there will be a street dialogue program with information about tourism, Rewan said.
