Dec 28, Kathmandu- The Armed Police Force has conducted its first ever ‘Grassroots Football Training-2081’ with the aim of producing skilled and disciplined players.
At a program organized at the Armed Police Headquarters, Halchowk today, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal handed over a football to Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police, Jibesh Pandey, the chief coach of Grassroots Football.
During the event, Inspector General Aryal expressed his belief that grassroots football training will enhance the intellectual, emotional and physical development of children. Under this, children aged 6 to 15 years will be given football training to produce excellent players.
Inspector General Aryal expressed confidence that the grassroots football training project will be successful in preparing excellent players by training all serving and retired Armed Police personnel and children of the general public who are interested in the game of football under experienced coaches.
On the same occasion, Inspector General Aryal also inaugurated a newly constructed boxing ring in the premises of the head office. He said that the Nepal APF boxing training ring is going to be constructed and trained for ease of training for boxing players.
Shailendra Thapa, Joint Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, informed that a total of 268 people, including 129 descendants of serving Armed Police personnel, four descendants of deceased and retired Armed Police personnel, and 135 descendants of ordinary citizens, participated in the grassroots football training.
