Dec 29, Kathmandu- Scrap Traders have protested against Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen).

They demonstrated under the leadership of the Nepal Recollectors and Recyclers Association.

They also raised slogans and displayed placards against the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Shah, saying that the Metropolitan Municipality had caused unnecessary suffering to them by displacing them from their businesses.

They complained that the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police had harassed, assaulted, beaten and insulted the street vendors. They alleged that the Metropolitan Police had not complied with the court order not to remove the street vendors.

They also displayed cultural tableaus during the protest.
