Dec 29, Kathmandu- The name of the proposed ambassador to Sri Lanka, Purna Bahadur Nepali, has been unanimously approved. The meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held on Sunday unanimously approved Nepali. After the approval from the committee, Ambassador Nepali will now be appointed by President Ram Chandra Paudel.
He will leave for Colombo to assume his duties immediately after being appointed. The Council of Ministers meeting on Mangsir 6 had recommended a Nepali as the ambassador to Sri Lanka. The committee chairperson, Ishwori Devi Neupane, informed that the proposed ambassador was unanimously approved after hearing the matter in the committee.

Earlier, during the parliamentary hearing, the proposed ambassador Nepali said that he would advance economic diplomacy with Sri Lanka and play a role in the country's economic development. Similarly, he insisted that he would do necessary work in Sri Lanka to increase religious tourism. There is a constitutional provision for the President to appoint the proposed ambassador once the parliamentary committee approves the name.
