Case Filed Against Nine With A Demand Of Rs 260 Million For Gold Smuggling

Jan 04, Kathmandu- The Department Of Revenue Investigation has filed a case in the Patan High Court against nine people, including five Indians, for illegally transporting gold. Two cases have been filed with a demand of Rs 260 million.

According to information released by the department on Friday, the District Police Office, Makawanpur, had seized gold while it was being transported illegally.

During the investigation of the same incident, the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathlaiya, Bara filed a case based on the police report. As per the permission of the Investigation Department, Pathlaiya filed a case in the Patan High Court through the Hetauda Bench of the Patan High Court.

According to the information released by the department's spokesperson and Deputy Director General, Krishna Kumari Shrestha, the report states that the Makawanpur police have seized more than 8 kilograms (8243.970 grams) of gold.
