Jan 05, Kathmandu- A woman died on the spot after a cooking gas leak caught fire in Pipaltari, Kushma Municipality-10, Parbat.
A fire broke out suddenly in the house of Dhruva Regmi of Tallo Rohote in Pipaltari on Sunday morning, when the gas leaked and caused a fire. Her neighbor, 73-year-old Durga Devi Poudel, had gone to Regmi's house to drink tea and buy milk.
The homeowner, 52-year-old Regmi, was seriously injured, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista of the District Police Office. According to him, the injured were given primary treatment at the District Hospital Parbat. Regmi has been sent to Pokhara for further treatment.
A team of police and armed police, who arrived from the district headquarters, Kushma, immediately brought the fire under control. The house was damaged in the fire and further investigation into the incident is underway, Superintendent of Police Bista said.
The police have informed that the woman's body has been brought to the district hospital for an autopsy.
